Hindusthan Shipyard Ltd (HSL) has set up a 2 MW rooftop solar plant in its Visakhapatinam yard in Andhra Pradesh. The project was implemented by CleanMax Solar. The rooftop solar plant will help the company to save ₹48 lakh per year.
Besides, the project will also receive incentives from Solar Energy Corp of India. Under the scheme, CleanMax Solar will invest, construct, own and operate the solar plants under a long-term power purchase agreement. HSL may expand the capacity of roof top solar to 4 MW in coming years.
